About ShannKalay Hostel in Yangon

Shann Kalay means “little boy from the Shan State”, it became the cute nickname of the owner when he moved from the Shan State to Yangon.

ShannKalay Hostel was opened in February 2015 in a very charismatic Burmese building with teak floor and a nice balcony where you can enjoy your breakfast or have a beer in the evening.

We can speak English, Burmese, Japanese and Mandarin.

Our Burmese style building is featuring 13 rooms on 2 floors

The included breakfast is a complete western style breakfast with coffee or tea, toasts, jam, butter and eggs. A Burmese breakfast can be served instead of a western breakfast on request. Breakfast hours are from 6.30am until 11am, but we will be flexible in case you have an early flight or bus ride.

We have our own generator to provide you with 24h electricity. Hot Shower and Air-conditioning will work in any circumstance.
